Simple Stories Great Escape Flipbook - July 2020 Fishing Trip
Paper Rose Paper, Stencils and The Stamping Village
Hello! Welcome to autumn! It's definitely harvest season around here,
with the hum of combines running late into the night and the nip in the
air even when it's sunny.
I have some cards to share with you today, using a collection of patterned paper from Paper Rose. This line is called Happy Days and is in a very convenient A5 size. The quality of this paper is amazing. It is very smooth without being glossy and is a nice weight for stamping and creating cards with. I also used a couple of Paper Rose stencils for these cards. They are both in the Scrapshotz store and are called Bamboo and Hexagon Scroll.
The die cut sentiment on the first card uses the Altenew - Hello and Hugs Die Set
and I have to say, these dies cut like butter! I cut the hello from the
holographic card base, then used the base to mat the watercolor panel
with the bamboo stencil. I used gold watercolor paint with the stencil
and was really happy with the result. I found that you have to be
patient and not get in a rush to watercolor through a stencil, but it's
worth it. The second card using the Hexagon Scroll is stenciled directly
onto the patterned paper with Distress Oxide. The sentiment is from The Stamping Village - Collaborative Stamp Set 4 We Stand With You.
This stamp set has some great sentiments and is a collection of stamps
from 12 different companies. Net proceeds from the sale of this stamp
has been pledged to the
NAACP Legal Defense and Education Fund, standing up for racial justice.
The third card has patterned paper with the bambo stencil using
Distress Oxide inks. The final touch on these last 2 cards is the
triangle of Nuvo drops.
Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy your weekend!
