Another Layout Tag?

It seems the only time I've been making time to create pages these days is when I sign up for 'tag.' This time I used the Crate Paper "Prudence" line. Love it!

My grandson already loves his hockey. His favorite team is the Oilers, of course, and he wants me to play with him, all the time. I really should because it won't be long and he won't want to play hockey with Grandma!!!

Layout Tag - November

I love to play these games! In layout tag, a layout is chosen and sent to the first person's inbox. When it gets to you, just use it as your inspiration and pass it on. This is my contribution to a layout tag on SSZ.
I used Fancy Pants (Daily Grind) for this. I love the effect of the transparency, and the quote strip that I cut up is perfect for this photo! And of course, it's one of my favorite subjects! TFL!

Simple Card

Sometimes the simplest card appeals to you. This one was whipped up in very little time with my cuttlebug, a bit of ribbon and a rub on. It is understated, but is one of my favorites!

Scrap Shotz Color Your World Crop

This past weekend was a very productive one in the scrapbook room. I thoroughly enjoyed all the challenges at the Scrap Shotz Color Your World crop. Here are my projects. This was the Scrap Shotz Gives Back Challenge.
This challenge was to use the color of your childhood bedroom. Yep, it was purple.
This challenge was to use your personality color. Mine was green. The challenge here was to use black and white with a bit of color.
This challenge was to use pumpkin patch colors. Love my green and orange.
This was a progressive challenge using scraps - a few more Christmas cards! This slide card was a make and take challenge. This card was a 'Card by Number' where we were given a sketch with the colors defined. This card set was fun to do (love my copics!) and will make a great gift.We made a little tote to put them in.And finally, we decorated a treat bag for Halloween.
The inspiration at this crop was amazing, and there are a number of challenges that I'd still like to complete. Thanks for everything, girls!

2 Sketches 4 You - Kazan's Sketch #11

I'm in a Christmas card making mood, and Kazan's sketch was too good to make just 1 card, so I made 2. If I keep this up, I may just get all my cards done before it's time to send them out!

Prairie Paper & Ink Sketch #32

Amy R has an awesome blog and she posts a sketch on Fridays. This week I thought I'd give it a try! Here's my version of her great sketch #32. TFL!

World Card Making Day!

The Creative Team at Scrap Shotz kept us busy on the weekend with some great tutorials and challenges. I'm still working on some, but wanted to share a few favorites.

This is an origami tree that was easy and fun to do. I may have to create more of these!
This card was for a challenge to make your card warm and fuzzy. I used velvet Thickers and a felt flower. Too easy!

This double flap card was easy and fun, too!
Thanks for a fun celebration crop, girls!

Blog Candy Giveaway!

Sarah is giving away some awesome blog candy, and you have until the 15th of October to win it! Check it out here!

Carla's Card Tutorial

Carla at Moralia's Weblog did a tutorial on Saturday. Here's my version.

What fun I had with it! Thanks, Carla!

Fall Card

This fall card was created with Scenic Route Sonoma and an image from the Stampin' Up "Lovely as a Tree" stamp set. I stamped the image in red and colored it with copics. TFL!
Thanks to Carla for posting the tutorial on how to edit my card photos for uploading. I think it looks very cool!

Charmer

Yes, he is! All he has to do is smile that smile, and he has us just where he wants us. Love this little man!

This layout was for another challenge last weekend at Lil Scrappers. It's pretty simple but effective, proving to me once again that this hobby is still all about the pictures, not about the products or techniques. TFL!

Sept Mini Crop at Lil' Scrappers

I've been busy with meetings, etc. for the past couple of weeks and had been away from my scrap room, so when Lil' Scrappers was having a mini crop this weekend, I was pumped. Here is a make and take that Carla posted which consisted of a mini pizza box with little cards in it. This will be a cute gift!

And here are the cards. I think I could easily put a couple more in the box.

This challenge of Michy's was to use 6 of 3 different things, so mine were 6 photos, 6 big brads and 6 words in the title "Stolen Moments Before They Steal Away." I've had that song in my head for a week, so now that I've used it somewhere, maybe I can move on? Anyway, I thought it suited how much gson #2 has changed since January this year. Growing and changing so fast!

WOW!!! I won some blog candy from Catherine over at Your Memories By Design! That was a fun surprise this morning! She has some great products over at her site, so check it out. I promised to post what I do with the embellishments she sends me.

Every month at Scrap Shotz they have a Scrappy Hour with a little project that is supposed to be done in an hour. Last night our hostess was my good friend Jess. It took me over an hour just to cut the supplies, but we made a cute little flag book. I have yet to finish embellishing it, but here is the unadorned book.

TFL! I'll try to be a little more diligent in my posting.

Kazan's Sketch 8 and Christine's Bonus Card!!!

Here is my 2 Sketches 4 You card for this week. Kazan's sketch looked better flipped upside down with the products I used. The solid ribbon carries a bit of weight in my design.

This week Christine supplied the sketch for the bonus card. I found this one hard to take a photo of with the ghost blooms and the front cut out. Hope you get the idea!

Great sketches, girls! TFL!

A Cool End-of-Summer Day

Just wanted to share this great pic of the grandsons. I'd like to take credit for it, but their Mom is responsible for the photo. I just played with it a bit on PSE6. TFL!

A couple of challenges and a card kit

I had a fun evening! I managed to get some scrappin' time while I watched some of the Olympic games as they wind down. I finished this layout about Gson #1 with his kitten using 5 products sent to me by tmom over at ScrapCentral. These challenges are fun, and seeing what the other girls did with the same products is interesting!

Then I did a shaped card for a challenge at Scrap Shotz. I received an advertisement in the mail in this 'take-out coffee' shape and thought of this challenge right away, so I used the ad as a template and I love it! Great way to ask someone out for coffee! LOL! The card really is straight, I guess my photo is crooked, though! Thanks Jen for the challenge!
Finally, I received a card kit from Carla at Lil' Scrappers and got to it last night! What a sweet image from Magnolia Stamps! I enjoyed putting this together. Thanks!

We've got a wedding to attend this evening, so better get some stuff done around here! Have a great Saturday!

2 Sketches 4 You Weekly Challenge

Here is my card for the weekly challenge at 2 Sketches 4 You! Check out their site, they have the greatest sketches and the inspiration is just incredible over there!
Thanks for having a look! ;0)

My CHF Stamp!

I was so excited to get my order from Cornish Heritage Farms! Love this image - it reminds me of my grandson who is 2.
I want to explore different ways to color it, so I will be playing with different methods. This was done with mostly with watercolor pencils, pencil crayons for the skin tone and chalk for the background. The patterned paper is from Making Memories, and I embossed the red mat with the Cuttlebug embossing folder called Forest Branches. The philosophy tag is from Tim Holtz and the velvet ribbon is from my stash. TFL!

My New Camera

I am the proud owner of a Canon Rebel XSi! Love my new toy and want to share some photos! GSon #2 is at such a fun age to photograph. He really just doesn't care if you're taking his picture!
So happy!

After the initial shock, the icy cold water was fun!

That is one po'd look you're getting there, Mom!!! LOL!

2 Sketches 4 You Weekly Challenge

Wow! 3 posts in one day, and it's not even noon yet! LOL! Here is my card for the 2 Sketches 4 You weekly challenge. TFL!

Pioneer Woman Challenge

On Thursday, PW gave her readers a challenge. It was to get up before sunrise and take some pics as the sun came up. Anyone who knows me knows that this is not my thing. I'm a night owl, not an early bird! Anyway, I took her up on her challenge, made my dearest think I was losing it, and took some great pictures.

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great Saturday!

Shout Out To SheetLoad

Crafty Al has a free monthly ezine, called Sheetload of Cards, that you can get here! She also has a mini, and they are both super inspiration! There are also some great prizes up for grabs! Check it out! But better give yourself some time! These can't be skimmed, you'll want to read them through! Enjoy!

A Z-Fold Card or Two

These are so quick and fun to do! This is Jen's August card challenge at SSZ. I used some BG Two Scoops, the Nestabilities with the Cuttlebug, added some ribbon, blooms and Kaiser bling.
I spent the rest of the weekend being domestic and putting together some entries for the local Agricultural Fair. I'm entering some cards, layouts and some photography.

A Catch-Up Weekend

Good to get home for the weekend and 'nest' for a bit. I was tidying up my SB room and found this pic that was calling out to be scrapped. I did a bit of vignetting on PSE to highlight the happy swimmers. It fit right in with Jess' DT 'Catch the Wave' challenge, so I found some BG Archaic that worked great. I cut along the waves and popped a row of waves with popdots. Added a couple of little embellishments (the little metal tag reads "priceless") and a sprinkling of stickles, and voila'! Thanks for looking!

We are just home from a wonderful weekend at the Big Valley Jamboree in Camrose. We got to see a some old friends and listen to some great music. We had a wonderful time! I'll get to scrapbooking some of the photos from BVJ in the near future! For now, I am looking forward to seeing my gs' when they visit tonight!

Scrap Shotz Online Crop - Music Mania

I spent quite a bit of my weekend in my SB room. It's been quite a while since I spent any time in there, so it was nice. Here are a couple of my favorite creations!
A layout or two ...

A couple of cards ...

And a canvas...

I was really fortunate to have won a prize package of CHA goodies from Sandy, as well as a crop prize! The DT did a fantastic job with the challenges and it was fun! Thanks, girls!
